Contextual Inquiry and Empathy Mapping

In order to help stakeholders understand the current experience of meal preparation and the goals users have around preparing a meal, I conducted a Contextual Inquiry study.

In this study, I first interviewed the participant about how she usually prepare her meals, and then I observed the whole process of meal preparation.

Here are some pictures I took while conducting the observation, showing that the participant are performing various tasks during her meal preparation.
After the interview and observation, I reviewed all data and created an Empathy Map based on the available information.

This Empathy Map encourages the stakeholders to think about user needs effectively, identifying pain points and opportunities in a systematic and straightforward way.
